'Everything is Beautiful' tree is now on display and up for bid!

People supported, and staff, have been working like Santa’s elves creating decorations for CLA’s tree entry at the ‘Illuminate the Season with ARCH’ event, now taking place at the Machine Shop. CLA's tree-decorating workbees saw dozens of people gather together at crafting workbees, held at the Northern Community Centre (NCC).

“Our tree theme is “Everything is Beautiful,” says Jennifer Walkerley-Chapman, Developmental Services Worker, CLA.  “We encouraged people to make one (ornament for the tree), do one (an ornament for themselves) and share one (as a gift ornament at Christmas) but people also came out just to contribute to the tree.”

Jennifer says that other members of the public, who were involved with projects elsewhere in the NCC building, have been very supportive in their feedback.

“People come by and gush over how lovely and creative the ornaments are and to encourage people with their efforts,” says Jennifer. Workbee sessions were two hours in length on Monday and Friday at the fully accessible location.

 ‘Illuminate the Season with ARCH’ brings local businesses together to show their love and dedication to the community and hospice (ARCH) by entering themed Christmas trees, wreaths or silent auction items for bidding. Funds raised go towards ARCH. CLA also participated in 2023.

The family-friendly event runs from November 14 to 17 at The Machine Shop at 83 Huron Street. All are welcome.
