Congratulations, Maddy!

The Algoma Community Vision Advocates (ACVA) recently presented awards based on nominations. Their first Self-Advocate of 2024 goes to Maddy, a recent addition to the ACVA team! Here are some pieces of her shining nomination:

"Madison has shown outstanding advocate of the year qualities during her many recent commitments.

-Madison has worked this past summer with the First Nations, helping at the Community Center and Library that supports programming offered for children/youth, while working to keep her local church ready for the community.

- Madison is a vital part of her karate team. Madison partners with younger participants to help them learn, relax and have fun!

-Madison just completed a cooking program, help[ing] others in her class with safety tips, cleaning, prepping and sharing her family recipe's.

- Madison recently participated in a promotional and fundraising calendar that helps support programming for those with Down Syndrome in Algoma."
