There are jobs that can check most of the boxes and then there is working at Community Living Algoma (CLA). For Anita L., CLA is where she started her work experience on a job placement, left for two years, and then returned for 31 more years … and counting! 
 
“Working here (at CLA) gives back to me in so many ways, the benefits go above and beyond a job description,” says Anita. “Benefits like friendships, feeling appreciated, the relationships you develop with coworkers and people supported and their families, and just being an active part of the community.”  
 
Anita has worked for CLA in a variety of positions: workshop instructor, residential counsellor, senior residential counsellor, residential manager, day program instructor then day program supervisor and, now, as a Community Support Worker.
